The Rabbit Room (Live), featuring Eric Peters
A couple of weeks ago we invited twenty folks to the Hutch on a Sunday afternoon for free popcorn, free drinks, and free Eric Peters music. The result is the first of a series of Rabbit Room (Live) shows. Keep an eye on @TheRabbitRoom (Twitter) if you’d like to attend the next show.

“Excellent!” “Smith Raves!” “7 out of 3 Stars!”
This kind of thing really improves this already outstanding facility.
Especially since Eric Peters is an American, yea World, treasure. People, get you some EP!

Sweet.
I really appreciate the extra work you all did to share it with those of us who may never be able to attend in person.
That piano is awesome. Does it play?

Brilliant!
Are you guys TRYING to get everyone who visits this site to want to move to Nashville?

You know what, I think Laura’s on to something. I’ve been suspecting the same thing for a while now as well. Heh heh.
On another note, I for one would not be disappointed if these shows were occasionally substituted for the normal “Song of the Day” posts in the future.

Also, I just noticed this: is that G-Mac on the piano?

Look out, NPR — here comes the Rabbit Room! Worth the drive every time. Great job, everyone! Looking forward to more installments.

This made me sad to realize how long it’s been since i’ve seen EP or an EP show. Thanks for sharing this!
Congrats to EP…a whole set without lyrics sheets!! ; )

AWESOME. And Laura’s right. Ever since I found this site I’ve wanted to move to Nashville. Not fair.

Yes, I want to move to Nashville too. Maybe in a couple years… These live shows… could you maybe… stream them live for those of us who don’t live in Nashville (yet)? I’ll make my own popcorn.
And we’ll make sure to tweet our requests. Thanks for sharing this.

I forgot to rejoice at the playing of “Mary.” Perhaps my favorite EP song.

All Smiths “yuff Ewic Petuhs.” Our 2 year old was riveted to this show and demanded that we “put Ewic back on” when it was done. The only thing missing was Waterloo, and the “teeny tiny guitah.”

@David P: I can help you with that sadness. Send me a message at booking@ericpeters.net
Thanks, amazing Peterson Brothers for bringing so many good things to us here in the Rabbit Room. You’re really quite something.

I live overseas and access to concerts and the stories of the songs is practically impossible. Things like this encourage and bless and strengthen us in a way you can’t imagine. Thanks for sharing and for the chance to “attend a show” for those who can only support by buying the CDs and reading all the RR posts.

Man, that was such a wonderful thing. Thanks, Eric, Andy, Pete, and anyone else involved in making this happen. I must second Sammy’s praise of “Mary,” which is a brilliant song. Eric, so glad that you are reviving some of those “Land of the Living” songs. Special mention must go to the Brothers Peterson for that absolutely stunning edit, segueing from the live Eric Peters video to the studio version of the song. Scared the poop out of me, but it was surprising, fun, and beautiful.

That opening song is one of the best songs I’ve heard in ages. The song itself, the voice, and that growling guitar in what must be some kind of odd tuning really moved me. Great stuff all! And that pic of dear old George on the piano tops it all off with such class. Hat’s off to the Rabbit Room!

Absolutely brilliant! More please! With the RR podcast and now these, how could one be dissatisfied with the RR? Great job guys!

I love Eric.

I have enjoyed EP since his Ridgely days! He keeps getting better and better. I had the privilege of attending one of his house concerts last week in San Antonio. It was an absolute blessing.
Thank you Eric for the amazing music and conversation. Hope to see you again soon!

Was a great honor to be invited to be the guinea pig for the first ever HutchLairoo Concert Series. Thanks for all the kind words, folks.
Demetrios, so great to make your acquaintance in San Antonio.

Love it! Wish I could’ve been there… I’m joining the chorus of “People that Want to Move to Nashville.” (But thanks for sharing the video with us.

Are these going to be released as mp3s?
Dustin,
I’m not sure. We’ll look into that.

“Live @ the Hutch” There is a whole brand there,
For someone who got into most of the RR artist via concert bootlegs (all legitimate as far as I can tell) (and have now paid for albums from every one of them subsequently I should clarify)
MP3 album at a taster rate would be brilliant for new folks or as collectors items. Although unfortunately for Eric ‘Bookmark’ largely fills this function for the earlier years work.

Ah, songs in the key of Hutchclef. Great! More! (Wonder what the Hutchclef symbol looks like?)

Man. I thought I was so original when I suggested that these RabbitPeople are trying to get us all to wish we lived in Nashville. Great minds, or something like that.
Laura Pre, keep us posted on those between-gig stops!

Just remembered this existed. Yes! Going to sit here and re-watch it as I drink tea from my Rabbit Room mug and work through some deep post-Hutchmoot thoughts.
