Congratulations to Pete Peterson and Jennifer Trafton
Last year at Hutchmoot 2010 an author named Jennifer Trafton showed up at the last minute and volunteered to help. I remember her walking in the room at the pre-moot meeting (redundant?) and introducing herself to the rest of the gang. I also remember seeing my brother Pete perk up and smile.
Now Jennifer’s dog Misty is in my house. Why? Because we’re watching Misty while Pete and Jennifer are on their honeymoon. Father Thomas McKenzie married them; Russ Ramsey delivered the homily; I played a modified version of my song “For the Love of God”, and it all happened at Church of the Redeemer, where in a month, Hutchmoot 2011 will be held. That’s enough synergy to boggle the mind.
So congratulations, Pete and Jennifer–two of the best writers around at the outset of a brand new story together. May God bless and keep you.

Congrats to Pete and Jennifer as they begin their lives together! And now a most important question: what future marriage will be born of this year’s Hutchmoot?

See there should have been a pirate ship involved with the ceremony!
God Bless you both!

This made me smile. Then I glanced at my bookshelf to see The Rise and Fall of Mount Majestic sitting right next the The Fiddler’s Gun and my smile grew even bigger.
Congratulations, Pete and Jennifer! Blessings on your new adventure!

Congrats to you both! This brings up and interesting question. When you’re an author do most people keep the name they had before to keep their “brand” in tact and what will Jennifer do? I’d love to hear from some ladies on the subject of name changing in general. In fact could one of our lady contributors consider writing a post on the subject?

“Hitchmoot.”
I think Clay nailed it. Beautiful synergy. It reminds me of when my wife and I got to give a talk on marriage to youth in the very room where we met over a decade before.
Congratulations Pete and Jennifer. God’s richest blessings.

Does this mean Pete now has someone to tell him when he’s wrong? – from “Appendix A: Bootlegs &B-Sides” In all seriousness, congratulations Pete and Jennifer. May God richly bless your life together.

So does this mean we have to come up with one of those terrible, annoying celebrity couple names? “Pennifer”?
Sorry.
Congratulations!

Can you imagine the kind of fiction collaboration we might get from these two? Pirates and giants? Knights and giant poisonous turtles? Fiddles and pepper!? The possibilities are endless and, despite my examples, not limited to their currently published works.

I also wonder why my picture is on this post. I suspect A.P. didn’t take enough pictures at the wedding.
It was such a beautiful event. Russ gave a truly lovely homily. Since I had a great view, I can tell you that when Jennifer completed here walk down the aisle she was trembling and Pete was crying. Manly tears, of course. It was awe-some.

Love this. I will agree with the “this makes me happy” sentiments. Blessings to the newlyweds.

Thanks for all the kind congratulations, folks. I couldn’t be happier (and Jennifer is blissfully unaware of the mess she’s gotten herself into).

No way. That’s really really cool. When I bought and read and thoroughly enjoyed The Rise and Fall of Mount Majestic, I had no idea the author was the better half of my favorite author of all times (or was at least to become?).
I’m happy for you Pete.
