Pre-Order–Jill Phillips: In This Hour
Last week, Jill sent me a copy of her new record, In This Hour. I put it on and turned it up as soon as I could get the files into my library. I’ve been playing it ever since. If you’ll remember, she had to postpone this album because the Nashville flood did some serious damage to her home last year, so it’s been a long time since I had a new Jill Phillips song in my head. The wait was worth it. I love this record. I can’t get enough of it.
The CD hits the streets on November 8, but if you pre-order from the Rabbit Room store you’ll get an instant download of the entire album. Here’s a song called “Next Big Thing” to whet your appetite. Put it on. Turn it up.

Another new cd! I don’t know if I can handle any more new music right now. Is it just me, or does anybody else notice that all of my favorite artists seem to release their new albums all at the same time?
I’m sure glad I heard some of these songs live, so I don’t feel like I’m in as much risk of missing the wave of ‘”In This Hour” fever’ that will doubtless follow this release.
Looking forward to the day when I can buy this cd confident that I’ll be able to appreciate it optimally.

I listened to my download a few days ago. Oh my. I love it. Jill has the great gift of transforming truth into music. Part of what makes the CD so powerful is the integrity from which the music comes. She speaks sacred truths about life, people, and relationships, and all with no pretense or striving to be “the next best thing” – which is why she succeeds.
And for the record, I think we need to have T-shirts made that say “Just Show Up.” Particularly as it relates to marriage and friendship, but so very applicable across the board.
So there’s the hook to those who are reading. Buy the CD. It’s wonderful (and yes… I do mean full of wonder and thoughts worth pondering).

Nobody writes melodic hooks like Jill Phillips. The Peters are geeky fans.

Great album. I’m still getting truth nuggets with each listen.
A friend recently lost her father. “If You Were Here” just captures so much.

The Goodgames are loving Jill’s brilliantly musical and thoughtful and moving new record. It was the soundtrack to my wife’s recent trip to Alabama and back and she just repeated it the whole way.
