Wow. No comments. Guess no one wants to salmon fish.

Thanks for this review, which reminded me that I haven’t discussed this film with anyone since seeing it. I went into the theater expecting to really like this movie, particularly since it starts with such a great, interesting title. Overall, I completely agree with your take on it, Thomas, especially the part about rooting against a marriage. I couldn’t root for the romance because it came at the hands of people not fighting for their marriage, and that was really obvious in this film, which distracted quite a bit for me from enjoying it. Overall, I thought the film had potential to be pretty great but didn’t deliver as well as I was hoping it would.

Salmon-fishing Arabs, you say? Wearing kilts in Monty-Pythonesque scenes with Jackie-Chan-type improvised weapons? What’s not to like?
Bummer about the marriage bit.

Enjoying all of your reviews, especially your ability to discuss positives and negatives for each choice.
Twice a year I go to the movies alone. A little treat to myself. I saw this movie on one of my movie nights. I haven’t been back to the movies since for fear of wasting $10 and two hours of my life on another terrible film. That is my ten second review
