Hutchmoot 2012: Light for the Lost Boy Release Concert
We’re still in the process of lining up the full Hutchmoot 2012 weekend, but we’re happy to be able to announce that our Friday evening event will be the official release show for Andrew Peterson’s forthcoming album, Light for the Lost Boy (releases August 28th). The concert will be a full band show featuring Andy Gullahorn, Ben Shive, and the guys from Caleb (who you just met yesterday). Having heard the new songs, and having had my brain numbed by their awesomeness, I can assure you that you are in for one heck of a good show.
If you’ve registered for Hutchmoot, your admission and reserve seating are included in your registration. If you didn’t get into Hutchmoot this year, never fear, this event is open to the public! Tickets are now available in the Rabbit Room store. Get them while they last. We’ll see you in September.
Last, but far from least, here’s the first single off of the new record. It’s called “Rest Easy.” Call your local radio stations and let them know what you think. Enjoy!

Words by Andrew Peterson
Music by Andrew Peterson and Tyler Cook
Finished November 2011 at the Warren
You are not alone
I will always be with you
Even to the end
You don’t have to work so hard
You can rest easy
You don’t have to prove yourself
You’re already mine
You don’t have to hide your heart
I already love you
I hold it in mine
So you can rest easy
Do not be afraid
Nothing, nothing in the world
Can come between us now
You don’t have to work so hard
You can rest easy
You don’t have to prove yourself
You’re already mine
You don’t have to hide your heart
I already love you
I hold it in mine
So you can rest easy
You work so hard to wear yourself down
And you’re running like a rodeo clown
You’re smiling like you’re scared to death
You’re out of faith and all out of breath
You’re so afraid you’ve got nowhere left to go
Well, you are not alone
I will always be with you
You don’t have to work so hard
You can rest easy
You don’t have to prove yourself
You’re already mine
You don’t have to hide your heart
I already love you
I hold it in mine
You can rest easy

I have my money ready to pre-order this bad boy when pre-orders start (??). I’ll take digital and vinyl if you got em. An old fashioned CD would be fine too.

When I read the title of this post I got one of those delicious twinges of joy because I realized I will be there! And once again, a song from AP that absolutely nails it for me. There’s that interplay of Scripture and turns of phrase that hit home in almost every song. I’m looking forward to hearing the whole.

I will be listening to this a few more times today… just a few…. ok maybe a bunch. Great reminder on a rainy, weary day.

My wife and Son for Christmas were going to send me to Hutchmoot, but the tickets sold so fast, I missed it. Looking forward to this album as always and will pretend I am there. Maybe next year.

Is it weird to be in a hurry for summer to be over?
‘Cause if so, you guys are making me weirder and weirder. And I didn’t really need the help.
Beautiful work, Andrew and team!

So, what you are saying is that August will get here soon enough and the album will be more than worth the wait. I can rest easy. Wonderful song!

Sounds sooo good! AP’s writing always gives me goose bumps & the artists behind him only add to the greatness. Well done! I can’t wait to hear the whole work!

Wow. Thank you for all the kind words, you guys. I didn’t realize today was the day to unveil the song until I saw this post. It’s such a freaky thing to record an album and have to wait weeks and weeks to share the music with folks, so your reaction makes me so very happy. Can’t wait for you to hear the rest of it. And feel free to call your local station to request the song–but don’t go crazy. If they get annoyed, they’ll never play it. Weird, but true.

Gonna be a good one, AP. Way to go, amigo. Go, ami, go.

There is nothing like the encouragement to rest when its whispered to the heart lost in the tornado of doubt and fear. I can feel my entire body letting go. I love the chorus. Thank you Andrew.

I’m joining in the jubilation. I don’t want to wish away the summer, but I am looking forward to the arrival of this album.

I have anticipated every album since I heard that Love and Thunder was coming out however many years ago. Can’t wait. Love this song. What if we believed it. Wow!

Hi Andrew. Bravo. That is what we all want to hear, isn’t it- that we don’t have to do any more crazy acrobatics to be affirmed, to be loved?
I’m wondering if the “…I hold it in mine…” line is a purposeful nod to my favorite e e cummings poem- “I carry your heart”?
And, hey, happy bday!
The sense of those lyrics have slowly been whispering in the corners of my heart for the past few months, and as usual, you, Mr. Peterson, have managed to set them to music just when they’re demanding to be sung.

Yeah, I was wondering about the pre-order, too. Will there be a pre-order time? Oh, please let there be. I sincerely wish I was going to be at the Release Concert.
It would be just a-maze-ing. . .

Hello Andrew. I came across your songs in Travis‘ Harry Potter forum some time ago. I have all your CDs by now + I’m excited about the release of your new album. August, come quick! Great music, great lyrics. What more can I say? Thank you, Harry. Warm greetings from Germany.
