Andy Gullahorn Makes People Cry
More than a mere Song of the Day, it’s a super-fancy Video of the Day. After you’re finished laughing, use the coupon code “MakeMeCry” to get $2.00 off a purchase of The Law of Gravity, Andy’s album featuring the song “Working Man” (until the end of the week).

Love this song! Now I want to here the “make me cry” song…. We have this album in rotation at work so it plays random songs all day long! I’ll watch people as they wander around the store, bobbing their heads to the beat – never listening to the words, as they shop. I keep waiting for someone to say something…guess I’ll keep waiting.

The best part of this video is that it doesn’t even give away all the goods from the recorded version.
Oh, and Andy — you still grabbed a tear from me on that second verse in concert. The one that REALLY took me apart, though, was Sins of the Father from the same album.

I’ll confess that prior to Hutchmoot last year I hadn’t heard “Working Man” (though I did buy The Law of Gravity there and I love it!) But during the Courageous Songwriting session Andy G said “Know the rules, know it’s ok to break them, but fall back on them if you get stuck” and I kept wondering what are “the rules”? Thanks for posting this – so good!

That was great! Reminded me of a capella group Da Vinci’s Notebook send-up of every boy-band song ever made: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eoCGKFg-WYw

Did y’all see that this was featured recently on the “Stuff Christians Like” blog? Yay for internet shout-outs! In a funny side-note, some guy in the comments over there called Andy a “pretentious hipster.” Ha! Guess he hadn’t heard the “Skinny Jeans” song yet.

Is this the Matthew West song in Question? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=q-6OhTrXnWw&feature=youtube_gdata_player

Thanks Ron. Your mention of Da Vinci’s Notebook led me to discover their “Another Irish Drinking Song,” and there was another song playing at the end of the video for that one called “Real Old Mountain Dew,” which led me to discover the Clancy Brothers, which has now sent me off on a search for more Irish folk music, discovering the Bob Dylan connection along the way… so yeah, thanks.

Finally got to watch this. Thanks for an awesome laugh! Of course, my seven-year-old who listened in didn’t catch what was so funny. She thinks tickling her mom so her mom can’t write is funnier. I wonder what life-formula that fits into
.

i confess that i spent the last 5 minutes laughing at comments on the video Russ linked… does that make me a bad person?

David: You mean comments like “may God bless you i love the story behind this song” (sic)?

Just listened to They Danced Alone, knowing it was a joke and DETERMINED not to cry.
Guess what? Andy G. is right. That song has special powers.
