Hutchmoot 2013 Registration Open
SOLD OUT! Sorry folks, but the tickets went more or less instantly. By 11:03 CST there was nothing left.
Today’s the day, folks. Registration will be opening any minute now (click here for information). There are 130 tickets available. We look forward to seeing you this October. Leif Enger, author of Peace Like a River, is our special guest speaker, and we’re also thrilled to have Jeffrey Overstreet on board as well as a few other guests that we aren’t quite ready to talk about. It’s going to be a great Moot.
If you don’t get a ticket and would like to be added to the waiting list, please send an email to orders@rabbitroom.com. Your name will be added to the list and we’ll notify you if a spot opens up. We also intend to record as much of the Moot as possible and those recordings will be made available in late 2013.
Good luck with registration!

Is the dang thing already sold-out? I mean I tried right at 11 and it came up an error.

Is everyone else experiencing the “we can’t process your order online” and having to call instead?

I got the same thing, called, and they were already sold out. Really disappointed; I signed in exactly noon EST to make sure and get them, but apparently they were gone.

I had the same message, called, and they were already sold out. Very disappointing; I thought I timed it well…clicked the registration button right at noon EST, got that error message, and apparently the tix are gone. Hopefully next time!

Yep, had the same problem. But when I called it was already sold out. Have a great time this year everyone who made it…

Still waiting on Margaret, dear Margaret, from iTickets to call me back and tell me whether I’m in…
It’s killing me!!

My experience as well. Clicked at precisely noon, kept getting error messages, called the box office and was told Hutchmoot was sold out.

Is it me or are the Stones introduced by the teacher from Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory?

Yes, I had the same problems at exactly 11am with both the online and the phone ordering. I was trying to help my sister register so if there is a waiting list, please email me. Thanks!

Yep. Same error message. Same number. The number was actually busy. So if anyone who bought 2 tickets is unable to go, I’m very willing to buy.

Peace be with you all. Just to think of all of us at keyboards at the same time, doing the same thing. It was a doxology of rabbits. And someday, we will sing “Praise God from whom all blessings flow” together.

Wait, there IS a waiting list??? Where???

I’m glad y’all have an easy time with registrations. I’m sorry I can’t make it this year.

If you want on the waiting list, please send an email. I can’t comb through comments here on Facebook and Twitter responding to waiting list requests. Send an email to the address listed in the post.

For what it’s worth, the error message didn’t mean “sold out”. I’m not sure what it actually meant, but I kept getting error after error starting at 11AM Central; meanwhile, my wife at the house (with an inferior internet pipe) got in right away and was able to get two while I banged my head against the screen.

Wait..you’re asking rabbits to focus?

Well, if Mick didn’t help, and you feel like Casey of Mudville, here goes:
Casey At the Bat
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=O2F0qC1-sa0
From the benches, black with people, there went up a muffled roar,
Like the beating of the storm-waves on a stern and distant shore.
“Kill him! Kill the umpire!” shouted someone on the stand;
And its likely they’d a-killed him had not Casey raised his hand.
With a smile of Christian charity great Casey’s visage shone;
He stilled the rising tumult; he bade the game go on;
He signaled to the pitcher, and once more the spheroid flew;
But Casey still ignored it, and the umpire said, “Strike two.”

I sent in my email for the waiting list…
Seeing as how the 10th is my birthday, how about you move me to the top of the list…
And why on earth are you not expanding if you’re selling out in less than 10 mins?!?!

Ah the beauties and agonies of Hutchmoot. We attended the first year and experienced the wonder and awesomeness of it, which I’m sure has just grown with time. One of the best things about it was the small numbers. It allows for intimate conversations and a real “family” atmosphere. I, for one, am glad they keep it small, even though I was one of the ones at the computer getting the same error message at exactly noon. Trusting that the Lord will bring people in who need to be there!

Ditto the disappointment, but ditto also Lyndsay’s comment: the size of this kind of event helps to make it what it is. Thanks for believing that small is still [especially?] beautiful!

Just an idea from someone who would really like to go sometime but also likes the idea of a small gathering. Maybe you could limit each Hutchmoot to a certain number of miles radius (and number of people) but hold several in various parts of the state/country throughout the year. For example, Nashville in the fall, KNOXVILLE in the spring, and another couple in the winter and summer somewhere. Or instead of the radius idea, you could line up a main speaker/musician/artist for each and people could pick one (!) Hutchmoot to attend based on that information. If Hutchmoots were in various parts of the state/country, it could also cut down on travel and housing costs, which would be wonderful. …Then again, I wouldn’t want it to lose the unique flavor that I’m sure the one annual Hutchmoot in Nashville has.
Looking forward to hearing all about it and so glad Hutchmoot exists!

We’ve got an idea or two about how to spread the wealth, but we aren’t ready to go public with anything yet.

A lottery of sorts might work. Plus, that would give people who don’t have access to the internet at work a chance to buy tickets. I think keeping the numbers small is a good idea. (although I’m not speaking from experience as I haven’t had the chance to attend yet…)

It was great seeing Andy and Charlie at Hutchmoot last year.
The cities that also have Art House America plants might be a good place to start. Art House plants are both in Dallas and Minneapolis right now. I would be happy to be a Dallas contact that could mind meld with how Art House and The Rabbit Room could mutually edify and encourage one another. The Dallas location’s physical building is opening this Spring…

Agree completely that a lottery needs to be implemented. The “who can click the fastest” game is frustrating for everyone and obviously the demand is far beyond the supply at this point. 7 minutes last year, 3 this year. Next year you guys might break the internet.
At least with a lottery, everyone has plenty of time to sign up and then understands the process. You may have the same amount of disappointment from folks who can’t come but at least that way they can sort of prepare for that ahead of time.

Just a thought – and possibly one that has already been considered – Do you have any way to know how many folks wanted to register but were unable to get through the process before you were sold out? As one who has had some event planning experience, I can tell you that number would be crucial to determine a direction for solving the problem. Are you working with 30 REALLY disappointed people or several hundred who would come if possible?

Donna, it’s closer to several hundred.
