Hutchmoot 2013: Registration Opens March 5th
We know everyone is anxious for Hutchmoot registration to begin, so here’s a heads up. If all goes as planned (no guarantee), registration for Hutchmoot 2013 will open at noon EST on March 5th (Tuesday).
We’ve made some amendments to the way registration will work. All “ticket” sales will be through a third-party merchant rather than the Rabbit Room store. This will prevent tickets from overselling and will prevent the Rabbit Room website from crashing during the rush. Unfortunately, the use of a third party means there will be additional processing fees tacked onto the registration price during checkout. We’d rather this wasn’t the case, but it’s unavoidable. For a variety of reasons, we’ve also had to eliminate the discounted registration for two. There will only be one price point this year: $275 per person. We regret the overall increase in price, but the event requires a great deal of time and money to host and we need to make sure the Rabbit Room stays in the black. The direct link to ticket sales will be on the registration page of the Hutchmoot website: www.Hutchmoot.com. If you have any questions about registration, please ask in a comment so that everyone has the benefit of the answer.
See you in October!

Will there be a limit on the number of registrations one can purchase? Also, is the time Eastern or Central?

Can you tell us the name of the third party you plan to use so that those interested in attending can go ahead and create accounts at the site prior to the registration opening?

Note that it looks like the time zone is EST…not CST.

No limit….as least as long as you aren’t scalping

Is there any reason we should start at the Hutchmoot registration page link, or would it be just as fast (or not) to go straight to the iTickets.com to register so we’re already logged in?

October might as well be the next century for a homeschooling mom. I understand that there are no refunds. However, should I register and then be unable to use my ticket, will there be any official means to sell it in order to both recover my money and allow someone else to attend? I’m kind of thinking that “Hutchmoot” isn’t a popular search term on eBay.

Clay: No reason that I can think of.

Stacy: Because the budget is based on ticket sales, we can’t afford to give refunds, because by the time people ask, the money is already spent. However, tickets are absolutely transferrable. You are welcome to find a buyer for it on your own, and in the past people have had little trouble doing that. If it comes to that, it’s important to notify us of the new name on the ticket.

Any chance of an official HM swap-board, perhaps even just a Facebook page or something?

Like the Hutchmoot Facebook page?

Well, sure, if you want to do it the easy way.

Hey Stacy, I can’t afford to come this year with the current finances, but hoping that changes by October. I might be able be your insurance policy if you can’t find another buyer if something pops up…

Is it considered “cheating” to go ahead and request to be put on the wait list in case I don’t get in tomorrow? It may be my only hope of sleeping tonight:)

Man, this is harder than getting Springsteen tickets.

I’m with Carrie. I definitely want to be put on the waiting list in case I don’t get in. I’m trying to be trusting and philosophical about attending but it’s a tough ticket.
