The Jackie Robinson biopic 42 is out in theaters. It definitely looks inspiring. Is it? Is it more than that?
One Minute Review: 42 from Thomas McKenzie on Vimeo.
“This movie could have been better,” can probably be said of any of them. I didn’t leave the theatre thinking anything like that though. I figured I’d like it, and I did, but I wasn’t so sure about my 16 year old son who rarely likes anything so tame — and he really liked it too! I tire of always receiving more than enough of the dark side of things. Yes, it’s definitely a part of life, but there’s a saturation point, y’know? And above all, it was gratifying to see a new Hollywood movie portray Christianity as normal and compassionate. I liked my boy seeing that as well!

This is the one minute biography of Father Thomas McKenzie. He's the inimitable host of the One Minute Review and the pastor of Church of the Redeemer in Nashville, Tennessee. Also, he has samurai swords. We highly recommend this priest.
