Special Engagement: John Logan’s 2009 Tony Award-Winning Play – Red

“We love stories that explore the process of creation, and this show is one of the best about the power of great art and the pain in producing it.”

—Greg Greene, Blackbird Theater

“…a fascinating one-act play that delivers on a variety of levels, not the least of which is its central theme of what motivates an artist to create and the thought processes that inform everything he does.”

We’re happy to announce that Nashville’s Blackbird Theater has invited the Rabbit Room community to a special performance of their newest production, John Logan’s Red (winner of the 2009 Tony Award for Best Play). The two-man stageplay, centered on renowned abstract painter Mark Rothko, is billed as a tour-de-force examination of art and human creativity and the power it has both in our lives and in our society. That sounds right up our alley. We can’t wait to see the show, and after this special Friday night performance there will be a talkback session with the cast and creative team behind the production.

You can read reviews here and here, and visit Blackbird Theater’s website for more information.

Tickets are available at a special discount price through the Rabbit Room store. Come out and support great theater. We hope to see you there.
