A Note on Our 20th Anniversary
and an Invitation

From the Desk of Executive Director, Dave Bruno

Dear Rabbit Room Community,

2025 is coming to a close! That means a new year is upon us, and it is a special one for The Rabbit Room. 2026 marks the twentieth anniversary of this ministry.

A twenty-year-old has experienced a lot of life. Some of you reading that will chuckle, thinking about all the life experiences that arrive after two decades. True! And that’s an important reason why we ask for your support at the end of each year. As a non-profit, The Rabbit Room relies on your prayers, participation, and financial support in order to thrive. We want this ministry to continue to grow for decades to come, and we need you to do this.

Several years ago, the staff envisioned what it would look like for The Rabbit Room to flourish well into the future. The team thought of a tree to describe our mission statement, “We cultivate and curate story, music, and art that nourishes Christ-centered communities for the life of the world.”

Because we’re The Rabbit Room and are surrounded by talented artists, we commissioned our dear friend, John Hendrix, to bring that very tree to life.

The illustration shows how The Rabbit Room grows from the rich foundation of God’s Word. That is, the Word in the full biblical sense––Psalm 19, John 1, and 2 Timothy 3––God has spoken to us through the creation, through the incarnate Son, and through the Scriptures.

That foundation nourished the artists who inspired the ministry of The Rabbit Room––people like C. S. Lewis and J. R. R. Tolkien and Shūsaku Endō and Flannery O’Connor. There are so many others, it would be impossible to list every artist whose work has fed our imaginations and formed our souls. The sustenance we’ve received from them grew into a sturdy trunk and the many branches of the ministry––events like Hutchmoot and The Local Show, publications from Rabbit Room Press and Rabbit Room Poetry Substack, and so much more.

And these branches have borne fruit that have been enjoyed and taken to new places by you, where seeds have birthed new trees.

Now here we are, 20 years after Andrew Peterson began The Rabbit Room in 2006. To acknowledge this milestone, we’ve commissioned Hendrix to design an anniversary logo based on the vision tree that we’ll use throughout 2026. This 20th-anniversary logo will appear on the annual member mug (if you’re not already a member, it’s a great way to support the ministry), on our website, and in a few other places. I pray it will be a reminder of our history and an inspiration for what’s ahead: celebration and missional focus.

As I close, it is important to acknowledge that earlier this year, I reached out to you with an urgent financial appeal. Hundreds of you stepped up, sharing encouraging words and supporting the ministry through your giving. I want you to know that you helped us over a hurdle. Since then, The Rabbit Room has remained fiscally strong. We will end 2025 in our best financial position in years. Moreover, we’ve improved our operations in ways that will keep us on track and help us lean into our mission with confidence.

As a non-profit ministry, we will always partner with you to be financially durable. Along with our board and the team, I’m committed to ensuring that we steward your giving in ways that honor God and serve our community.

Thank you so much for your support! We truly could not thrive without you.

In Christ,

Dave Bruno
