Meet April
“So many books, so many songs, so many hugs and kind words in the darkest of times.”
April was drawn into the Rabbit Room because of many things, but the emphasis of one idea in particular heightened her curiosity. She says, "When I read a piece of writing that embraced the tangible, I had opened a door to the whole wide good world." The people she met, these resources and opportunities she experienced, April was blown away by the existence of such things and conversations! They inspired her to take a deep dive into the works of the Rabbit Room and experience the beauties of this art with others in her local community.
April’s love for the tangible is seen in how she approaches her local community in Dallas! The Rabbit Room inspired a Dallas Fort Worth Rabbits community where they'll try to get together for various house-shows, concerts, lectures, or anything that sparks their Rabbity heart. They also have their own facebook page, sharing upcoming events and allowing others in the area to meet-up. This is just one of the ways April has gotten to experience the beauties of Gospel-infused art in community.

What's your favorite Rabbity book?

I love Wendell Berry’s Hannah Coulter and Jayber Crow. I love Flannery O’Connor’s short stories, especially “The River” and “Greenleaf.”
The friendships made are an important part of April's Rabbit Room experience, and with that comes a love for all the amazing things she’s discovered! Whether it be an eye-opening talk or specific work ( "The River" by Flannery O’Connor has been instrumental to April’s life), she has no shortage of favorites. Most recently, Rabbit Room Theatre has captured April’s heart. With the stage production and film adaption of The Hiding Place, April was overjoyed that cinemas across the globe were able to experience this powerful story of faith, hope, love, and forgiveness.
Having experienced such rich and meaningful resources that resonated with her and grew her relationship with Christ, April felt a desire to give back. The Rabbit Room Membership initially appealed to her because she loved what the Rabbit Room was doing and she wanted to see more of it. It was never about the mug or the small perks included with membership, but “the joy of seeing the birth of beautiful books and plays and podcasts and albums, all making their way into the world because of people like me."
If you resonate with April’s experience, we encourage you to learn more about the Rabbit Room Membership! Through membership, not only can you support the works and events coming out of the Rabbit Room, but take pride in how your contribution is changing the way people experience Gospel-infused stories, music, and art.
