Meet Trevin

"But the primary pull toward the Rabbit Room Membership is the mission. It's the beauty, not the benefits. The purpose, not the perks. It’s joining others who share a passion to create and cultivate, to make a wilderness more like a garden, to serve as witnesses to new creation spilling over the old.”

Who's your favorite Rabbity character of all time?

"That's easy. It's Reepicheep -- my favorite Narnian, who appears in C.S. Lewis' Prince Caspian, The Voyage of the Dawn Treader, and The Last Battle."

Trevin’s been familiar with the Rabbit Room since the beginning. He’s listened to various podcasts, read the blog, introduced Press titles to his kids, and experienced music over the years that have benefited his life and the lives of his community. More recently, Trevin’s seen the Rabbit Room at work in his life through the hospitality and events coming out of the Rabbit Room’s local expression of hospitality, North Wind Manor.

As a writer himself, North Wind Manor’s “STILLA” Open Hours seemed like a perfect place to get work done with a coffee and scone in hand. But, he was mistaken. What he thought was another place to get work done became a budding a place of fellowship and productivity, inspired by the atmosphere of faith, hospitality, and smell of old books and coffee galore (though Trevin is more of a tea guy himself).  He says,

"There's a holy enchantment about North Wind Manor. The wooden floors and pillars. The whispers from books, old and new. The significance of artifacts and paintings. Best of all is the delightful company and camaraderie, from the hospitality team responsible for the breakfast spread, to the fellow travelers who come together over steaming cups of coffee or tea to read or write or reflect on the craft and calling of creativity."

Trevin has found a home here at North Wind Manor on Friday mornings, using his time to write and engage with the community around Tolkien's fireplace. As he leaned further into the life of the Rabbit Room, he took a step forward in actively stewarding and supporting the work. It’s through the Rabbit Room Membership that Trevin has become an annual supporter, giving to the organization to help it flourish and live out it’s mission with confidence, creativity, and courage. He goes even further to say…

“frankly, my affinity for the mission made me feel like I was a member already (and that's the best kind of community to become part of!) The perks of membership are great. Who doesn't love a leather bookmark, a Rabbit Room mug, an occasional surprise, and access to great online resources? But the primary pull toward the Rabbit Room is the mission. It's the beauty, not the benefits. The purpose, not the perks. It's knowing your efforts to lift up whatever is true and good and beautiful really do matter. And it’s joining others who share a passion to create and cultivate, to make a wilderness more like a garden, to serve as witnesses to new creation spilling over the old.”
